Sacred Craft for All:
If you're woman (or not a man) reading this and you're thinking "wow, I want to do that!" then please reach out. We want to offer our Sacred Craft events to all who are interested, as well as an extension of our Men's offerings. We will do so based on who we receive messages of interest from, and may run mixed-gender events parallel.
SAFETY
You will be using blow torches and sharp implements as part of this weekend Practical process of making a flute
- You will begin the process with a prepared Blank flute that Luke will have ready for you upon arrival, as this step is very time consuming, and we want everyone to leave with a finished flute!
- From the blank provided you will be Carving/shaping their flutes with a Carving knife. Rounding off the squared edges. Then we will be burning in the holes and tuning them to fit the scale.
- Next up is sanding down the flute until we get it nice and smooth and clean. Adding any aesthetic touches like Pyrography, carving symbols, adding crystals, copper wire, and perhaps a mouthpiece.
- Finally, Oiling the flute before Luke & Jake give them all a final tune to make sure everyone leaves with a flute thats in tune.
